"Being single means you're missing out on God's best plan for your life."
How it sounds in your head: You watch married friends living what looks like the abundant life—partnership, kids, family vacations, legacy. Christian culture elevates marriage as the ultimate blessing. Sermons about marriage and family make you feel like you're in the waiting room while everyone else lives the real story. You wonder if you're in God's Plan B.
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope."
-- Jeremiah 29:11Religious teaching that marriage equals God's primary blessing and singleness is second-tier.
Cultural and church messaging constantly elevate marriage as the ideal. Practical loneliness makes partnership look like the solution. Seeing others' families creates tangible comparison to your solo life.
Paul was single and wrote that he WISHED everyone could be single like him because it allowed undistracted devotion to the Lord. He wrote most of the New Testament, established churches across the Roman Empire, and lived in God's absolute BEST—all while single.
I REFUSE the lie that singleness means I'm missing God's best. IT IS WRITTEN that God's thoughts toward me are peace and hope, giving me a future. I am in God's PERFECT plan for my life right now. IT IS WRITTEN in Ephesians 2:10 that I am His workmanship, created for good works He prepared beforehand. My purpose isn't on hold until marriage. The BARAK blessing of Abraham is mine NOW—blessed, fruitful, impactful. I declare that I am living God's best for me in this moment. I am exactly where He wants me.
The Father isn't holding the 'real blessings' behind a marriage door while you languish in the waiting room. He's running toward you RIGHT NOW with the fattened calf, throwing a party over the CURRENT chapter of your life, celebrating who you are TODAY, not who you might become with a spouse tomorrow.
