"Being single at the end means God withheld the one good thing I asked for my whole life."
How it sounds in your head: You prayed for decades. You were faithful, you served, you waited. And God said no. Everyone else got their prayers answered, but not you. Now you're at the end and the one desire of your heart was denied. What does that say about how God felt about you?
"For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly."
-- Psalm 84:11Religion: Teaching that unanswered prayer means God's displeasure or that marriage is the ultimate blessing God gives to favorites.
She watched less faithful women marry while she remained single despite prayer. At 90+, there's no time left for the answer to come, making the 'no' feel permanent and personal.
She was content, wealthy, and had accepted childlessness, asking for nothing. Elisha prophesied a son she never requested. God gave her the desire she'd stopped voicing, at a time she'd made peace without it—showing His giving is about HIS nature, not our begging.
I REFUSE the lie that God withheld good from me or that unanswered prayer means I was unloved. IT IS WRITTEN that no good thing will He withhold from me, which means if marriage didn't come, something BETTER was reserved. I am blessed with the blessing of Abraham—not by my marital status but by COVENANT. IT IS WRITTEN that I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, and nothing I lacked on earth diminishes what I receive in eternity. God didn't say no—He said 'Wait for the BEST,' and now I'm about to receive it. I cross into fullness, into the presence of the One who never withheld His love for one second. I was NEVER denied. I was PROTECTED for this moment.
The Father says: 'You think I said no? I said WAIT FOR ME. Every man I kept from you was because I was jealous for you—you are MINE. The yes you're about to receive makes every earthly marriage look like a rough draft. Come get your reward, faithful one. The wedding is ready.'
