"Being single at my age means I missed God's plan for my life."
How it sounds in your head: I'm 65 and alone. Everyone else found their person decades ago. I must have taken a wrong turn somewhere and now it's too late. God had someone for me and I blew it.
"Do not fear, for you will not be ashamed; neither be disgraced, for you will not be put to shame; for you will forget the shame of your youth, and will not remember the reproach of your widowhood anymore. For your Maker is your husband, the LORD of hosts is His name; and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel; He is called the God of the whole earth."
-- Isaiah 54:4-5Enemy accusation mixed with religious timeline thinking that God's blessing has expiration dates based on human schedules.
Every friend married in their 20s or 30s, and watching grandkids arrive while eating dinner alone feels like evidence of failure. The church culture that celebrated weddings decades ago now has nothing to say to the single senior.
Widowed after only 7 years of marriage, she spent the next 60+ years single in the temple, reaching age 84. In her final years God gave her the PRIVILEGE of being among the first to recognize the Messiah—her singleness positioned her for divine encounter, not divine rejection.
I REFUSE the lie that being single at 65 means I missed God's plan. IT IS WRITTEN that my Maker is my husband and the LORD of hosts is His name. I am not forgotten, not overlooked, not a leftover. My identity is HEIR OF ABRAHAM by covenant, blessed coming in and going out, above and not beneath. IT IS WRITTEN that no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. I walk in the BARAK blessing—protected, provided for, and positioned exactly where covenant love intended. My value was NEVER in a ring but in the BLOOD.
The Father isn't disappointed that you're single—He's been your faithful companion every single day. Where religion sees failure, He sees a son who's been walking with Him, and He's RUNNING toward you now with fresh purpose and joy for this season.
