"Because of stereotypes about my race, I have to work twice as hard to prove myself."
How it sounds in your head: You hear adults in your community say 'You have to be twice as good to get half as far.' Teachers have lower expectations or overly high scrutiny. You feel constant pressure to be exceptional just to be seen as equal, and any mistake confirms stereotypes.
"And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."
-- Colossians 3:23-24World system imposing performance burden based on racial bias.
Systemic bias is real, and this boy HAS likely witnessed or experienced differential treatment. Adults in his life may be teaching this as protective wisdom, making it feel like truth from trusted sources.
Foreign slave in racist Egypt, falsely accused and imprisoned for a crime he didn't commit. Yet 'the LORD was with Joseph' and gave him favor DESPITE being in the most unjust system possible—he went from prison to prime minister in ONE DAY because God's favor overrides human bias.
I REFUSE the lie that I must work twice as hard to prove my worth. IT IS WRITTEN that I do my work as unto the Lord, not to earn human approval, and my reward comes from GOD who cannot be biased. I don't work FROM insecurity; I work FROM the secure identity of a beloved son. The BARAK blessing of Abraham is mine by covenant—God COMMANDS blessing on the work of my hands. IT IS WRITTEN that God's favor establishes my work, and like Joseph, God can promote me FROM a prison cell to a palace in ONE DAY. I declare: I am already accepted, already valuable, and human prejudice has no power over God's plans for my life.
The Father doesn't see you through the world's prejudiced lens—He sees you through the LENS OF THE CROSS where every human category was destroyed. He's not making you work harder to prove yourself; He's inviting you to REST in already-proven sonship and watch Him open doors that bypass every biased gatekeeper.
