"Bankruptcy would prove I wasted my whole life and failed at everything that mattered."
How it sounds in your head: If I declare bankruptcy at my age, it's the final verdict on my life—total failure. I can't start over now. This is how my story ends: defeated, broken, bankrupt. What was it all for?
"I have been young, and now am old; yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread."
-- Psalm 37:25Religion: The belief that financial success equals God's approval and bankruptcy equals divine rejection.
At ninety-plus, there's no time to "rebuild," and bankruptcy feels like a permanent epitaph on her tombstone. Society equates net worth with self-worth, making financial failure feel like life failure.
She was so bankrupt that creditors were literally coming to take her sons as slaves to satisfy her dead husband's debts. In ONE AFTERNOON, God multiplied oil until ALL debt was paid with surplus left over—no payment plan, just instant provision.
I REFUSE the lie that bankruptcy defines my worth or my life's meaning. IT IS WRITTEN that I have NOT been forsaken in my old age (Psalm 37:25). My Father is not counting my failures; He's preparing my feast. The BARAK blessing flows from COVENANT, not credit reports—it protected Abraham the liar and Jacob the deceiver. IT IS WRITTEN that there is NO condemnation for those in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). I am the righteousness of God in Christ, and my identity cannot be touched by any financial status. My life is HIDDEN in Christ, not measured by banks.
The Father doesn't see bankruptcy papers—He sees His daughter covered in Jesus' blood and robed in His righteousness. You're not coming to the end of failure; you're coming HOME to the party He's been preparing.
