"At my age, this business failure proves I never really understood God's will."
How it sounds in your head: You spent a lifetime trying to serve God, and you still couldn't discern His will for your business. Maybe you were never as spiritual as you thought. Maybe you missed His voice, or worse - maybe He never spoke to you at all. How could you get it this wrong after so many years?
"A man's heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps."
-- Proverbs 16:9Religion teaching 'if you miss God's will, you'll suffer'; enemy using failure as proof of spiritual deafness; trauma from 'find God's perfect will' pressure.
You genuinely tried to pray and seek God before making business decisions, and the fact it still failed makes you question every spiritual impression you've ever had.
Paul tried to go to Asia, tried to go to Bithynia - the Spirit FORBADE both. He didn't get it 'right' on first try, but God redirected him to Macedonia where breakthrough happened. Wrong turns didn't disqualify him.
I REFUSE the lie that my business failure proves I missed God's will. IT IS WRITTEN that I plan my way but the LORD directs my steps - He doesn't demand perfect discernment from me. Even Paul tried wrong directions and God simply REDIRECTED him. IT IS WRITTEN in Romans 8:28 that God works ALL things for good - including my 'wrong' decisions. The Father isn't angry I didn't read His mind perfectly; He's a FATHER, not a puzzle master. I am led by His Spirit, and He's leading me NOW.
The Father isn't disappointed that you didn't decode His secret will perfectly - He's a Father who redirects, not a boss who fires for wrong turns. Like Paul tried Asia and got redirected to greater assignment, your 'miss' is being worked into something better.
