"All the women my age are widows who only want their dead husbands."
How it sounds in your head: You look around and every woman is grieving someone else, wearing his ring, talking about HIM. You can't compete with a ghost. They don't want YOU; they want him back.
"Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."
-- Isaiah 43:18-19Enemy creates comparison and competition where God offers NEW THINGS and resurrection life.
Widows DO grieve. Many DO treasure their late husbands. You see the wedding rings still worn and hear the stories.
Ruth was a WIDOW who loved Mahlon. Boaz was older, probably past typical marriage age. God brought them together for a SECOND-CHANCE love that produced the lineage of JESUS. New thing, later life, greater purpose.
I REFUSE the lie that I'm competing with dead husbands or that new love is impossible. IT IS WRITTEN that God will do a NEW thing that springs forth now. If He wants to write a Ruth-and-Boaz story in my final years, He WILL. IT IS WRITTEN in Ruth 4:13 that God gave them second-chance love that birthed the Messiah's line. I am BARAK-blessed, and God's plans aren't limited by age, grief, or past loves. I trust His NEW thing.
The Father whispers: 'I'm not asking anyone to erase their past—I'm offering something NEW. And whether I bring earthly love or not, I AM your bridegroom, and our love story eclipses all others.' He's been romancing you toward eternity.
